Thirteen years ago, China's first national semiconductor lighting industrialization base was born in Xiamen, and Xiamen immediately became one of the sources and birthplaces of China's LED lighting industry. Looking forward to the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan", Xiamen has also proposed the goal of building a global LED epitaxial chip and high-end LED lighting system R&D and production base, sounding the charge for the second innovation and entrepreneurship of the optoelectronic LED industry.

　　At the "2016 Strait LED Industry Innovation Forum" hosted by the Xiamen Science and Technology Bureau and undertaken by the Municipal Optoelectronics Association on November 4, the industries on both sides of the strait conducted technological innovation, transformation and upgrading of the LED lighting industry during my country’s "13th Five-Year Plan" period. After in-depth thinking and discussions, the experts put forward ideas and viewpoints such as using smart lighting to help the construction of smart cities, and using the "BRIC meeting" to enhance the international reputation of the LED industry, opening up new ideas for the transformation and development of Xiamen Optoelectronics LED. Xiamen’s LED lighting industry’s policy support and innovation and development over the years have also been fully affirmed by the participating experts. They expect Xiamen to make full use of its existing advantages and rely on innovation to take the lead in completing the transformation and upgrading and second take-off in the country.

　　Remarkable innovation results have attracted national attention

　　During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, Xiamen strives to strengthen innovation drive and create an innovative ecological environment, which provides an important guarantee for promoting the innovative development of the LED lighting industry and the enhancement of comprehensive strength. It is understood that the city has implemented 72 municipal-level science and technology plan projects in the photoelectric field. Among them, the financial technology fund invested more than 40 million yuan to support 14 major LED technology research and industrialization projects, driving the total social investment of nearly 820 million yuan. Through the guidance of financial technology funds to increase holdings, Xiamen's LED lighting industry's awareness and strength of independent innovation have been significantly enhanced.

　　The latest data shows that Xiamen has 113 high-tech companies in the LED lighting field, achieving an output value of 12.6 billion yuan, accounting for 56.5% and 60% of the number of Xiamen LED companies, and the indicators are also among the top in the country. From 2008 to 2015, Xiamen authorized a total of 2862 LED patents, an average annual growth rate of 27%, and authorized invention patents to 1,443, an average annual growth rate of 25%. As of the end of 2015, Xiamen's LED lighting industry has a total of 24 enterprise technology centers, 7 key laboratories, 7 national postdoctoral workstations, and 7 engineering technology research centers. In addition, the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau organized enterprises to undertake more than 30 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Innovation Fund Projects, Electronic Fund Projects of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and major municipal science and technology projects.

　　"Xiamen Model" has obvious advantages as a sample industry

　　Xiamen's LED lighting industry has a strong comprehensive strength, which can be called a "business card" of my country's LED lighting industry. Over the years, the development experience of the LED lighting industry characterized by innovation, quality, focus, and professionalism has been summarized by the industry as the "Xiamen Mode", which has become one of the two models for my country's LED industry development. In March 2014, Xiamen was selected by the Ministry of Science and Technology as one of only two Class A high-tech industrialization bases in the field of semiconductor lighting in the country. Xiamen's LED lighting industry has maintained an average annual rapid development of more than 25% for 13 consecutive years since 2004, becoming one of the biggest development highlights in the industrial field. In 2015, Xiamen LED lighting achieved a direct output value of 27 billion yuan, and led to the formation of an industrial scale of 70 billion yuan.

　　From the perspective of the industrial chain and enterprises, in the field of upstream LED epitaxial chips, Xiamen's total annual output of LED chips (mainly high-power) is 68 billion, accounting for more than 60% of domestic LED chip output. Sanan Optoelectronics, headquartered in Xiamen, has an operating income of over 4.8 billion yuan, and the total number of MOCVD (LED epitaxial wafer manufacturing equipment) has reached 279 units, forming an industrial scale with an annual output of 24 million LED epitaxial wafers and 300 billion LED chips. Various data Both rank first in the country, and invested 10 billion yuan in Xiamen to increase the production of 200 MOCVD equipment. In the future, it is expected to surpass Jingdian in actual production capacity and become the world's largest LED chip manufacturer.

　　In the field of downstream LED applications, among the top five companies in my country's LED lighting products export volume, there are four companies including Xiamen Lidaxin, Sunshine Ennai, Topstar, and Highline Lighting. Especially in the field of high-end LED bulbs, Xiamen's exports of high-end LED bulbs account for about 30% of the country's total. Among them, my country's LED lighting product export leader, Sunshine Ennay, made the company's LED bulb lamp production and sales accounted for about 3% of the global market in only six years. In 2015, it achieved 1.8 billion yuan in sales revenue, a year-on-year increase 64%, the tax paid increased by 37.7%. In the next step, the company will continue to transform and upgrade to the field of LED smart lamps and lighting systems by creating its own brand "energetic". In addition, the German high-end lighting brand LUXUNI authorized by Xiamen Fenix ​​Lighting to develop and sell has won top awards in the design industry such as the German Red Dot and the Chinese Red Star for many years. In 2016, it was again awarded the "2016 Xiamen International Design The Organizing Committee of Zhou-Red Dot in China awarded the "Best Creative Award".
